The compilation I made a couple of years ago of all my Metallica cd's. Listening to that as I cleaned my Ranger earlier this evening.

The idea is an "album" as a published work.

Metallica's various albums would count
as would S&M (or other live albums) or even Garage Inc.

But a "Greatest hits album" would only qualify after arguement.

a "Home compilation" doesn't.

I listen to my own compilation albums all the time.

This "discussion" is about what "albums" (The Media format is irrelevant it can be Compact Disc, Cassette, Vinyl or for that matter 8-track (or if you are really weird Mini-Disc)) do you like enough to listen to the entire thing as a single cohesive work

The Metallica album I most recently listened to all the way through
was their first, "Kill 'Em All".

But the album I'm listening to right now is:

Staind - "The Illusion of Progress"
