Low range. And perhaps a working limited slip differential. And a much lighter foot.

To lose your clutch, you would have to SLIP it or whang it. No clutch is going to survive enough of that.

ok thanks but what do you mean by slip it or whang it?
thanks

He means INTENTIONALLY slipping the clutch by "riding the pedal"
to reduce the ammount of power transmission in the quest for traction.

ok, yea im a newfie.
so do you mean "dumping" the clutch

I think he means riding the clutch-keeping your clutch pedal floating on the friction point.

Dumping the clutch (letting your foot off real fast) will spin the tires, slipping the clutch gets you rolling slow but with high rpms and your foot holding the clutch right there where it starts to grab, burns the heck outta the clutch. First thing yer gonna need is a new clutch...so did you ever get it out of the mudhole?

yea its out...got it towed by a 2x4 ford,
WHEN A 4X4 CHEV COULDNT TOW IT!!:D

But i wasnt slipping the clutch or anything
I would let it out normal, and she would spin
I would put it in reverse and let out the clutch normal,
The truck was budging a bit, i knew by the feeling of it i was going to get out cause wen im stuck every other time and she barely moves i have a good chance of getting out.
anyways,
I kept doing that until one time i done it and the clutch stuck to the floor..?
so i pulled it up and then nothing worked, all the gears are like neutral, until like i showed a few weeks ago i can put it to the mat and she moves really slowly, and yea I was about to blow the motor..

If your clutch pedal goes to the floor and stays, it's either out of fluid, or something is keeping the pressure plate from engaging, mud maybe?. Sorry, prolly gonna have to pull that puppy to find out...

FYI From personal expirience, Don't use your clutch in the mud if possible, Sounds like you kind of had to though. But if your in some good mud and push the clutch in, the mud goes in between the flywheel and disc, and the disc and press plate. That'll burn up a clutch real quick. Trust me I found out the hard way.:icon_thumby:
