I think I can do it.. all I really need to do now is use the wiring adaptor (i think i need one?) and connect the speakers, screw them down using the mounting adaptor, and put the grill and everything back on.. doesn't seem TOO difficult.


do you have any input on my possible choices listed on the last post of page 2?

i dont like the infinity component set in my truck. the concensus is that all infinity tweeters are a bit harsh and the mids are severely lacking in the midbass department. so i couldnt recomend those to you. i have heard a set of 5 1/4 type s coaxials. they sound decent. definitly an improvement over stock, but nothing that will knock your socks off. and stay away from 2ohm speakers unless you plan to amp them. theyll kill your decks internal amp.

is focal a good brand? i don't hear much about it

focal is a great brand. theyre component sets have won quite a few sound quality competitions. ive never heard theyre coaxials, but it would be worth looking into. try to see if theres a local dealer around you. they might have some on a sound board for you to have a listen.

I agree with Pistons23, Focal IMO has a set of components I dream of at night, on the other hand I’m not a big fan of there coaxes, cause there pricy, best bang for your buck, I recommend Pioneer, and... Alpine even with as much is I hate them.

i've looked around 5 local places.. practically nobody has 4" speakers...
