What tire would you choose?

I go with either the Destination A/Ts or the Hankooks. I've never ridden on the Firestones but given the abuse I've seen them take (comparing tread condition and alignment angles) they seem to be good tires.

I second the nomination if the Destination A/T's. I got a set for my truck (215/75R15) about two years ago after research on my own and recomendations from a couple of friends. I've put about 30,000 miles on them, nearly all on-road (including a 2,000 mile road trip) and they appear to have hardly worn at all. Heck, even at 70 mph in HEAVY rain, there's not a lick of hyrdoplaning. They even CORNER well too.

The only downside to them is that they are pricey ($125 per tire or $500 US for the set) and for the first 5,000 miles they were a tad noisey, but after that, they quieted right down.

The KBF might be a bit to aggresive for your needs.

yeah thats the only options i have. good year is out of my league right now.
seems like im going the right way chosing the RVT's. i still have time tho.
i only have money for 3 right now

go with the firestone a/t's. i've got 245/70r16's on my 88 b2 and i LOVE them.. my b2 see's alot of trails, mud, light rocks, and daily driving. These are the best a/t's i've ever rode on. Great mud traction for an a/t, awesome on concrete and wet roads. I can't say to much about the wear since i just bought them about 4 months ago or so.

Hancook tires have very good winter ratings, offroad and winters are the same ratings M+S

They are in high demand up here and if you want a set buy them in the spring! cuzz you wont get them in the fall.

Nhaz, I hate to burst your bubble, but the guy's in HONDURAS!!! In case you missed geography class, it's located near the equator, it's a tropical jungle. SNOW is a foreign concept to them.

It's similar to how most Americans can't understand the Canuck obession with hockey and fries with gravy on them!

excellent tires for sure! legal in all the states. they are completely remolded, not just glued on (re-capped) like they were back in the 1940's and 50's. they have had very good write up's in most of the 4x4 mags. i'll be using them for all my future tire purchases as long as it's a size they sell. just my $.02.

None of these, I'm sold on Michelin tires. Best performance, best tread life, although it comes at a price premium.
