A direct quote from the manager at work, "What the hell is a Flat Allis?"

I work in a shop where we make tile plows and stringer trailers. On mondays we have a meeting after break to talk about the upcoming projects. Our most recent project is to put a plow on the back of an Allis dozer.

What the...?

Where I work-http://www.waynestilepro.com/

I make the small parts for the trailers and plows.

fiat perhaps?

It was a joint venture between Fiat and Allis-Chalmers that started back in the '70's. I did a quick search and somehow they got split off from A-C and are now in with New-Holland. I know Allis made dozers on their own, I don't know if that was the base of it or not. What model is it?

A-C also imported Fiat tractors in the 60's but they put A-C sheetmetal/stickers on them, they had a history together.

I do love my US made A-C tractors. :icon_thumby:

Edit: Looks like at least some of them were based on A-C crawlers

Cool. One of my uncles retired from the Army and knew one of the CEOs of that company and helped start that up back in 1974 when he was living in Holland. I have not heard anybody mention that Fiat make in years!!! It was a joint venture between Italian Fiat and American Allis-Chalmers. The it was part of New Holland Ag. Wow!! What a small world, Bro!!!

I've seen them laying tile with a plow before. They had 2 8-wheel tractors pulling it. That's a lot of brute force.

IIRC Allis had a bad habit of switching owners/co-owners quite a bit...

Allis was Allis until they sold out in the mid '80's, then they got passed around like a hot potato for awhile. They might have rebadged other peoples stuff to a limited degree, but they were always their own company until they sold out.
