What size tire is this???

Says Daytona Super Stag N78-15
i bought it bc the guy said it was a 30x9.5 but have never seen this on a tire and i got a good deal on it with great tread. thanks will

There is no information that you gave by which to divine a tire size.

The size should be listed on the sidewall of the tire. It will take the format of either Pxxx/xx/Rxx, LTxxx/xx/Rxx or XX/xx.x/Rxx

This is an old way of sizing tires before radial tires were common. Your tire is probably 30 or more years old. Don't use it on road. I don't know how the size system works exactly, but IIRC each letter corresponds to an inch size, the second number is aspect ratio, and the third is rim size.

Did some poking around. Floored is right (not surprised), that is an outmoded tire size metric, discontinued before I was born.

Also, that tire seems to be subject to a recall. In 1984.

I think they still do trailer tires this way. but not 100% on that.

N were the biggest tire before they went to numbered sizes like 10.5 x15.The metric system took over on not all brand and applications evenly some companies ran the letter system quite a while.Probably not to look imported.Some sizes that were favorites stayed longer too like n 50-15 very popular muscle car tire.
