i have a 2.9 in my truck, what size of exhaust should i use 2" or? and who makes headers for this motor? thanks.:icon_confused:

pace setters makes one for the 4wd 2.9, summit has them for for around 170. edelbrock and headmen make a set to i belive. as for size i went with 2 1/4 and a dinomax muffler and made my own cat back system.(i removed the second cat and ran it starting at the first) gave it an ok sound and doesnt take away form the back pressure the truck needs. seems to run better then with the stock setup.

backpressure on a 4 stroke motor is a BAD thing.

pipe size is dependent on how you drive. 2.25" is a good mid range pipe. smaller will give you more bottom end torque...but will choke out the high end a little. larger diameter will have the opposite effect...a lot of top end scream, but at the cost of off-the-line torque.
