selling my 99 ford ranger, extra cab, 3.0 v6, 5 speed, 4x4, 130k miles.. problem is i bought the truck a year ago and 15k miles later two months ago i lost a cylinder (needs a new motor) and clutch bladder decided to give way (tranny, transfer case and rest of driveline is in great shape).. truck interior and exterior is in good shape 7 out of 10, tires have 3/4 tread on them, has a JVC Cd player.. AC, Tilt, most of the goodies except power windows or doors.. Kelly Blue Book listed this truck 4200 in fair condition but needing a motor/clutch its nowhere near that.. any ideas what i should list it for? thanks

i would definetly do so if i had the time.. i just need to get rid of it..

donate it to charity, i dont think it has to run...and get a dedution, they'll tow it for free im sure. or sell it to a junkyard for a few fast bucks as steel.

Why not just get a junkyard motor and fix it?

Right now it is a parts truck, a couple hundred bucks is all you will more than likely get for a truck with multiple major issues.

true i would if i wanted to keep it.. also and no offense to anyone but this is the 2nd ford ive owned and will be my last, i decided to give it a try after my old toyota and im going back to it, i got an offer for 150 bucks that i may take.. thanks for everyones advice!:icon_thumby:

Yeah, if you were to throw a motor in it and get it running you could at least sell it for close to book value...lot better than $150 :icon_confused:

i know i could, but once again i do not have the time or money to do so.. for curiosity i went in and was quoted around 3500 bucks to do the motor and clutch by a few different shops.. called junkyards and had no 3.0's in stock.. and the best thing right now is to have this truck off my hands and out of my sights

$150 ? :icon_surprised:

Let me guess.....you are probably a long way from me in Tn. :shok:

I'll trade you a B2 that needs a clutch for it.

You are selling it for what two of the tires are worth if they are name brand.

Try to wait awhile and put a motor in it. For a couple hundred bucks it will increase the value a couple thousand.

No doubt. Let us know where your located. Someone here will definately grab it off you.

For 150 bucks bucks, i would come get it lol. Seriously, if all it needs is a motor, buy one somewhere, or sell it for more. hell my dumb@$$ father in-law sold a wrecked 2000 3.0 ext cab 4wd ranger(shoulda been totaled but didnt call the insurance) for $600 bucks and it needed a new cab, doors and fenders, and the steering was screwed up after the wreck. Truck only had 40k miles on it. if anything, i would stick 800-900 possibly more if wanted for the truck, and stick to the price, i just sold an 84 dodge ram with a blown motor and the frame was starting to give way for 800 bucks to a guy that wanted it for parts.
