I built this from a totaled roll over. It has a built explorer rear axle with 4:88's and a Detroit locker, James Duff 6" lift, 33" MTR's and much more. I bought the truck for $500 but now I have $5,500 in it. What's it worth, $3,500?

I'm at the point of either bailing out of this truck and buying something different or continuing the build with a straight axle and V8.

I just won a new M8000 Warn winch. I started thinking about mounting it than thought I might be better off to sell the truck at a loss and put the winch on a Rubicon project.

Give me some ideas.

The only thing I would do with it was KEEP IT.

Nice truck. I would keep it and finish it up right how u want it, i dont see a whole lot of point at selling it for a loss. Maybe u could put it up for sale higher than that and see if any one will take it. if someone does buy it for more than u can start out with a new truck without losing much/any, and if not than u can continue on with your truck and swap in the v8. I get being bored of it, but you can always find something to do to it :P

All depends on what you want to do. I'd love to have that truck lol but if you dont like it much anymore, starting a new prodject isnt always a bad idea. Just wish i could get good into mine lmao people always need to borrow money and im a sucker for family :P

I'd keep your rig you've got if I was you. But then again, I have a hard time selling things I've put a lot of time an effort into like you have. I doubt you'll get much of a vote for the Rubicon project given what site you're on. It looks really nice though, I like it.

Keep it you are insame boat I'm in one day I want to sell mine next I want to keep it I get bored alot with a vehicle but the times are not like they used to be to turn a vehicle so your better off kepping it

Well, rather than selling it and taking a loss, why don't you take they money that you would have lost and either a) putting it into your truck or b) starting a new project? That way you get the best of both options! Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

By the way where did you win the M8000?

I attend the PNW Trail Jamboree. At the end of the 4 day event they raffel off a Warn winch and I won it!!

The truck is paid for but I need to buy ($400) or build a winch bumper. A straight axle will cost me around a grand, the 302 conversion another 5-10 grand as I'll need another tranny and transfer case. Before you know it I'll have $17,000 in a $5,000 truck.

This is really no suprise to me as I have been down this same road many times before.

Thats cool good score. I got a M6000 for the rear given to me and a 8274 for the front for 50 bucks so im set for winches.

donate it to me! lol j/k

i'd say keep it. i get to attached to stuff.. i can't sell stuff that easily. you'd have a really nice trail rig there.. is it a street legal rebuild from salvage???

i think its begging for a v8 and d44/9" combo..

It was a low milage GSA government rig. It was rolled hard, even killed the girl driver. I first had the frame checked and it only needed a slight pull. The title was clear but when I put the doner cab and bed on it they branded the title to "Rebuilt".

As it sits it has 80,000 miles on it and drives like a new truck. AC even works.
