Hi, sorry but this has been asked 100 times. I just got a 1990 ranger and I am wondering what year(s) can I use parts from to fix it up..... thanks

Err, could you be a little bit more vague? What parts? What truck do you even have? What is wrong with it?

sorry, body parts.... the drive train is good enough , for now.... It's a 1990 extended cab 4x4

89-92 is what you will be looking for

Here's some broad answers to your vague question about parts.

Exterior: 89-92 (except where RangerBoy pointed out.)

Interior: 89-94

Suspension: 83-97 (The exception being the beams and spindles because of the ball joints. I don't know if the 4wds differ at all between D28 and D35 at the ball joints.)

Brakes: 83-94 (Though, 95-97 had a dual piston caliper that will work as long as you swap the brake line with it.)

Engine/Transmission: Any year that has your same engine will work (Except distributor parts, and if you have a 4.0 it also depends on if you have a OHC or OHV.) ***Double check journal/bearing/gasket part numbers and sizes before taking my word for it***

After all that, you're pretty much left with the piddly stuff that holds the ranger together: like bulbs, bolts, accessories, and wires.

with the '89 body change, the hood, fenders, headlights and grill all changed but the doors and bed are the same as '83-88

[Brakes: 83-94 (Though, 95-97 had a dual piston caliper that will work as long as you swap the brake line with it.)

You have to get the spindle to go with the bolt on caliper, they don't use wedge slide pins like the older trucks.

I think this guy might be a Troll.

Does he have flowing green hair?

No, but he does live near a bridge.

Oh, and 85Ranger, I knew I had left something out of that thing I said about brakes when I wrote it. Thanks for filling in the blank.

i live near a bridge, maybe he's living under it. i'll go check in the morning.

Thanks for all the info,
