What mounts are you using with your doubler?

I have a d.d machine doubler. I have had it sense he first started selling them way back when. I built this mount a few years ago to replace the factory trans mounts I kept destroying and have been very happy with it.

However having 2feet of transmission tail housing, doubler, and tcase hanging off the back I am not real thrilled about. What have you done to add another mount farther back?

I built this mount using an old axle bumpstop I had laying around (shaping it by cutting it slightly). The t-case (doubler unit) just rests on it. I also still have the stock tranny mount though (weight is split between them).
Haven't had any issues since early-mid '07 & ~ 27K miles or so.

I am using two stock skidplates. The 2nd one is turned around backwards and then I just have a thick chunk of rubber between the transfer case and the skidplate. Helps to support the extra weight.

I like that one. It would require a bit of rework on my skid plate but I need to do that anyway. Mine has a nice bend in it from to many hits in Johnson Valley.

How are you not crushing the stock tin ones? I think mine lasted one trip before I destroyed it. I bent it all the way against the tcase and tweaked the bottom of the frame up a bit where it was mounted.

Since that pic I've redone my skidplate (yielded a good 1.5" more clearance without the stock "tin" thing hanging down to catch on rocks).
The hole in the center is access to the bolt that holds the snubber to the crossmember (now part of the skid).

I am making a new mount for the trans (very similar to the new one you made), and am hoping to make a very similar one for the rear case.

I guess I have been lucky so far. I have never slammed in on any big rocks (knock on wood). It has worked for me so far. One these days I'm going to build a full belly plate but until then i will continue to run the stock one's.
