i recently went in a 4x4 run with my 2000 3.0L manual ranger and got a little too deep in the water and my air box wasn't too too tight either and water got swallowed and broke my cylinder #6's connecting rod right in half but luckily nothing else got damaged. and need my truck this week end so i can't wait two weeks for it from the dealer ship(witch is the only place i can get it new). so wondering what motor as the same connecting rod and what year i can range from if only available from a 3.0l ranger. anyone knows??

mine is a flex fuel ... i think the older ranger like 95 to present fits and taurus 89 and up fits too

My 02 is a flex fuel & the 07 Taurus motor that I bought when I scattered the 02 is a flex fuel.

JP02XLT

so is the base and pistons and connecting rods different in the flex fuels?

thanks alot. bought a parked 95 motor and used the piston and connecting rod(even though the oil ring is a little thicker)and works fine for a project that only took me 3 days.
