what minimum gas octane recquired?

Im curious, being ive never owned a flex fuel motor or even have heard anything about it before I bought my truck. What grade gas is recquired to not have any detonation or pinging?

99 ranger 3.0

I just started putting mid grade in my truck. Seems a little better.

It will say in your owners manual. If you don't have one, 87 octane is normal for a 3.0.

ya i figured for the flex fuel it would be fine on 87. I don't have the manual
