What leaf springs will fit my ranger?

Have a 96 std cab 4cy 5sp 2wd . I need to replace a broken leaf spring (over load spring cracked in half. ) .

I'm going to junk yard so will a leaf spring from a V6 extra cab work or do I need to find the same cab/ engine/Trans as what I have?

Or

Could I save time/ money by just taking the over load spring? Can I take that off of the leaf assy?

You can remove the overload spring, it'll just squat sooner under load.

You can use any PAIR of leaf springs from any year of Ranger, they will all swap over......I say PAIR so that you keep the same set load ratin, if you only replaced 1 side, the replacement one maybe a different rated spring and your truck would sit crooked.

How do I remove the over load spring? I was thinking I would just get a over load spring off of another ranger wouldn't that work?

Yes it would but why make a head ache bigger? If I was you I would just change the leaf pack and while doing so replace the leaf perches if rotted.
