also any of you got any problems gettin into 4th gear at 35mph but its eazy at 55mph???

30's shouldn't be a problem at all, and no mine shifts the same no matter the speed. I forgot to mention that's a damn nice truck, must be nice living in cali, I'd love to find a rust free 1st gen STX.

lol. i hope. yeah cali is nice... alot of rust here is prolly just normal rust amount there.

that sucks... is that yours? whats the tire size? how much sellin that one? mine that im gettin was being sold for $1200

ive got an 88 STX, 2.9L 5spd 4x4, 6in split lift, 33x12.50 maxxis mudders. the only rust on it is on the box where the previous owner drilled into it to mount a CB antenna. before my clutch started acting up it would shift fine in any gear at any speed, now it wont go into any gear.

lol thx for the info...

p.s. if you can get the truck rollin hit the clutch and get it in first you dont need a clutch after that if u shift right. but you cant stop(execpt a rolling stop. lol)

Actually it was my moms the motor didn't work she gave it to me for parts, I parted it out and junked it.

I never looked at the tire size but this one was a highrider so it sat a little taller than a stock 4x4. It sat the same height as mine with 31s and a 3" body lift.

My buddy tried that in mine he was used to doing that in his semi, my tranny refused to shift unless you used the clutch. It would just grind.

ive rev-matched mine before just to see if i could, it will work, the problem is getting it rolling, i really dont feel like burning out my starter or my boots trying to get it rolling. that and the fact that between the barracks and my shop there are a half-dozen stop signs and a guarded gate

lol nevermind then.

ive reved matched before in an older 1st gen chevy s10. i wont do it in my ranger cause its just easier to use the clutch. but i do have an s10 though muahaha... lmao

btw... 4x4 rangers ar hardly seed where i live. no real big need for them. just 4x4's for messin around in the REALLY soft sand. and even then you only need 4x4 if you dont have a rear locker
