I'm still fairly new to this forum, and found a few things I was looking for by searching, but still have a question.
I have a 2004 Ranger Edge 4x4 4.0L and I'm going to change my front/rear diff fluids along with the transmission/transfer case fluid. I know it might be a little overkill since the truck has just 30K miles (bought it with 20K almost a year ago), but I'm now using this as my daily driver here in the valley. I drive about 100 miles a day when I got to work, and I want to make sure that all the fluids are in top shape...especially given the heat that we can see out here.
I found out (thanks to this site) that I have a 4.10 8.8 rear end. The axle tag says "4 10 88 4A27". This means that the rear end is not LS, which means I don't have to worry about adding any friction modifier when I change the fluid.
Now my question is with the front diff. How can I find out what type this is? Any other thoughts/comments on changing these fluids are appreciated.
Thanks!
