What is your workout routine?

I use to stay in shape just wrenching on the Ranger (I don't use air tools), and working around the house and yard. Then I hit my late 30's, and I started gaining weight. I eventually realized it was going to take more work, and had to get a gym membership.

And you work like a dog 12 hours a day 7 days a week in the oil field.

I figured it was the aftermath of a 2.9L... it's only 3 or 4 leaves. Just think of all the havoc you can wreak when you get the supercharger finished.

You could probably go fast enough to blow the leaves off the hood of your truck.
I hate you so hard right now ??

I get a good bit just laughing at yall sometimes, others I do a few 12 ounce curls ;)

I used to ride a bike quite a bit, have a canoe and thats a good workout for the arms. Even though I mow with a allis-C theres still 30-45 min worth of trimming to do with the push mower in the summer. I know im getting old and things are changing, I used to not weigh more than 130, now I struggle to stay below 170 and I actually eat less. I should excersize more I know. Winter is the worst, I just want to hold the couch down, watch my dvr’d shows from the week (that I cant see at normal time because im on 2nd) and nap. 50 is right around the corner for me, and alot of days I really feel it.

I've always been the guy to bulk up a bit during the winter months and it would come off in the warmer months as my outdoor activities increased. Then I hit 50... that kinda put an end to the taking it back off. So... I have 7 years worth of not losing it in the summer to deal with. So... I either go buy bigger pants or do something about it. The trouble I have is the get started part...

Funny story...

Me and the ol lady were at the store the other day, walking in thru the parking lot, she turned around and said "why do you walk so dam slow?"

With a straight face i said "im geared for power not speed".

She rolled her eyes and kept walking.

true.... but i am monitoring this thread for the education.

simply put.... i do need to have an actual workout routine.

Woof. What are you doing working on a GM product.

Drinking gasoline apparently.

We sold it, with a Ford service contract. It came in with a code for #4 injector circuit, and a misfire. I put the #4 injector in it, and when I was done #2 was leaking, so I had to go back in and put a second injector in.

I don't like GM's products, but I don't mind working on them. At least GM knows their stuff is junk and is gonna have to get worked on, so they leave room to work on it.

Just do curls with drill collars and climb the derrek a few times a day. Good to go.

yeah...i still have to latch pipe sometimes....on a workover right now and had to teach my derrick hand how to handle drill collars.

it was painful to watch. i had to go up there.

Up until a few months ago when my shoulder got bad, they found two bone spurs and I will probably have surgery next month, it went like this:

"A" workout, Mon & Wed:
Bench press 3x8-12
Rows 3x8-12
Overhead press 3x8-12
Pulldowns 3x8-12
Back extension machine 3x8-12
Ab machine 3x8-12 or hanging leg raises maybe 3x20, not bad for being 59 years old.
15 minutes on the elliptical

When I can do 3 sets of 12 for 3 workouts in a row then I add 5 pounds and to bad to 8 reps.

"B" workout, Tues & Thurs or Sat:
Incline bench 3x8-12
Curls, at Planet Fitness the EZ Curl bars only go up to 60 lb so I do the whole rack, 3x10 at 60 lb, then one set of each to failure on every bar, 50 lb, 40 lb, 30 lb, 20 lb.
Rope pulldowns for triceps, 3x10 at 70 lb, then 1x10 at 60 lb, 1x10 at 50 lb.
Ab machine, 3x8-12
Leg press 3x8-12
Leg extensions 3x8-12
Leg curls 3x8-12
15 minutes on the elliptical

If I had done that before I might not have torn my rotator cuff which led to a whole bunch of other problems (and a career change) when I got a staph infection in my shoulder, two more surgeries, a month on IV antibiotics every 8 hours, home care nurses, five months in my living room, and popping Vicodin like candy and washing it down with Jack Daniels at night to be able to sleep. Just sayin'.
