What is your favorite Modification/ Upgrade???

Idiot, notice the for reals gears and lockers, thats what I would do even if I don't have any yet but I have had experience with them and loved em'.

and the other things about winter I said, were not ment to be a standard thing they are just my favorite mods because yes its cold, dark, and slippery up here and I love those mods to my truck.

Lighten Up.

haha

i am one of the more light hearted people around here. i never lash out without provocation. believe me i am well aware of what lockers, gears and better axles can do. review my build thread some time, i am not your average idiot who cant change there spark plugs without supervison. i am still learning mechanicaly like eveyone else, i still refuse to do my own gears (having a friend who does it for free makes that easy to do), amoungst a few other tasks. i am NOT a certified mechanic by any means but i am skilled when it comes to the older 2.9 equiped vehicles. please do not take things so seriously, people will lash out much easier than i do. no need for childish nit picking.

Same with the above, I wasn't intending for that to be an angry back comment...? I was just stating why I choose those for my tops.

I say suspension lift.
I've driven stock Rangers offroad, small lifts, body lifts with bigger tires, and lifted. I've run lifted Rangers with stock gears and 235's. I've had more fun and gone more places that way than any other.
I know, I know, 6" lift and 235's looks like crap but, it works and I really don't care if anybody else likes it.
All of my Rangers had either posi or welded rear though. So.....
If your Ranger has an "open" rear, start with a locker there.
If you already have "posi", start with a suspension lift. Replace the posi with a locker later.
This is for '83-'97(TTB) Rangers. Newer than that I would say the best mod would be a SAS.

The best mod I've done to my 98 is swapping out the automatic for a M5OD 5 speed manual. Although swapping in the AVM hubs for the vacuum crap was up there as well.

pretty much anything other than stock, or run of the mill stuff. I like seeing things out of the box....which is why I cut my roof off.

click on "build thread" in my sig if you really want to see that.

my favorite homemade mod: anti-axlewrap setup. i could have bought traction bars but i made this instead. this first setup used trailer safty chain snaps, a turnbuckle and a beam clamp to fasten the assy to the front spring hanger

i didnt like the non-welded ends of the turnbuckle and the beam clamp seemed like it had potential for failure. i then went with this:

it was a better idea, but the original rusty '93 spring hangers were not holding up to it well. last week i put on new front spring hangers and made a bracket to go over the rear side bolts holding the spring hangers to the frame, the eye bolt goes through a hole drilled above the gusset i welded inside the angle iron.

dont have a camera handy to take finished shots, the rear mont remains the same. should work well for my uses. and after reading about 3/16 cable working, i know my 3/8 chain is plenty enough for my stock truck.

My favorite upgrade by far... tires. most vehicles these days come with junk tires.

lockers/gears without a doubt.

My favorite mod is my 32" BFG MTs on 17" forged Centerline wheels with cut fenders to make 'em fit.

1. MSD coil and motorcraft coppers, really woke the beast up.
2. 2" budget lift
3. Explorer center console
4. 86 throttle body

My favorite mod on my 93 2wd was probably the Autofab suspension kit I put on it. Worked like a dream and made the truck look so much better. Lifted it the right way for sure with no
drop brackets at all. Of course it wouldn't have been half the fun without the locker in the rear.

Just realized this is a 2 year old thread.

Mine has not happened yet. I am waiting until mine is paid off first and have a 2nd cage.

4.6 SVT swap! Yeah it is going to be SICK!
