I seem to have very low gears or something because I get smoked at red light by every car.My truck winds out real quick and need to be sbifted so soon,It does pretty good after second gear but real slow on take off ,What suggestions does anyone have :pissedoff:

To be honest I have never beat anybody off the line in my current ranger. But then again I quit trying after a few times and I can't afford the gas to be rompin' on it anymore.

what size engine do you have?
2wd or 4?
stick or auto? ok looked and saw that it was a stick.

2wd ,5spd ext cab and real slowin first to second

And yeah I cannot really afford to "Get on It ".I was just wondering if something is wrong with it ?I inherited the truck from my father-in law and noticed how quick you have to shift through the gears .I had a toyota tocoma but tollaled it out so my father in law gave mw his truck to get to work and decided I could use it more than him(He bought it from and elder man himself and drove it a few months then I screwed up and wreck my truck(and that truck was a 4 cyl,5spd,and it would get up and go.Always was real quick off the line and seem to go as much as I would force it.Man that lil truck was quick. This Ranger is in mint shape only 67000 miles on it and it is growing on me but I cant get over on how long it takes me to get going.

Well, the first things that come to mind are tire size and gears. A taller tire would stretch things out a bit and be cheaper than gears. But really I don't know what to tell you. Sorry, guess my advice sucks.
