Hi there,

I've been reading this forum for a while now and it has been really useful thank you all for your help with my toy BII 1990 Manual 2WD.

Yesterday during the oil change I noticed this disconnected cable just besides the oil level sending unit, do you have an idea what can it be for? It is a single cable.

I know what is not since these systems are connected and working fine:

Temp sending unit - ok
Oil pressure sending unit - ok
Oil level sending unit - ok

So any ideas? Thanks in advance fr your help.

Regards

Oil level sensor that is in the oilpan.

Nah, level sensor is in the side of the pan. Looks more like someone replaced and re-wired your oil pressure sensor.

Well, thanks for your help and answers, for what I can tell the connector to the oil pressure sensor has the original "cap" or "connector" at the end of it ( the same connector type as the temp sensor) and both the mysterious cable and the cable attached to the oil pressure sensor are included in the same conduit hose all the way to the firewall.

There is the main conduit containing all the cables then it divides in branches, in one of those branches one cable goes to the oil pressure sensor, one goes near the coil and one is the mysterious cable.

I'll follow the cables closely and keep you posted.

Thanks again for your support.

Sooooooo is it a wire (for electrity) or a cable?

I still put money that its supposed to go to the oil level sensor. Yes, i know its in she side of the oilpan, but iirc the wire is right beside the oil pressure wire in the factory harness.

It is a wire, I'm attaching a picture of what I think is my oil level sensor and it is connected but then again I can be wrong and the picture is not my oil level sensor.

I'm attaching also a pic of my B2, this is my second one since the first was sent to the junk yard by a drunk driver even when my truck was parked outside my house!!!!!! BII 1988 Manual 2WD :bawling:
