I am needing to do the front main seal and timing cover gaskets on my 97 4.0 OHV.

Truck has 150K on it - all of it in this lovely rusty salt belt they call Ohio, and My puller has a set of bolts that I think might be it but the holes are rusty and they don't want to start so before I clean them up with a tap and risk tapping to the wrong size or pitch I was hoping someone would know what those threads are supposed to be. Also to make life more entertaining the bolts included with my puller are too short for the deeply recessed pulley to clear the puller frame. So I'll have to buy some longer bolts as well.

Well I am thinking it is M8 X 1.25 pitch but wanted to confirm before I run a tap into the holes....

Anyone?

Yes indeed it is a M8 X 1.25m pitch I was able to clean the holes with a tap and pull the pulley just fine.

NOTE: MY puller kit only had M8 X 1.5 - 80mm bolts. You will need at least 100mm length bolts to get back into the threads if your puller frame is about 1/2" thick or so, 110mm would be even better as a minimum. I managed to find some 100mm threaded rod and put those in the pulley and secure the puller with a nut. I couldn't find 100mm length at my local hardware store.
