What is the EDGE package?

I'm curious to know what the difference between a regular ranger and a ranger edge is....

I know the edge sits higher because of blocks (i think?)

is the edge supossed to be like a "pre-runner" edition or something?

The Edge package is a sportier package than the regular 2wd Rangers. All Edges (no matter if it is 2wd or 4wd) sits the same height. The reason being is even the 2wd Edges have the 4wd front suspension minus the axle; Edges have the same torsion bar suspension as all '98+ 4wd Rangers.... The Edges also have color matched fender flares and bumpers. Other than that, they are the same as other Rangers......



There have been a number of people on Ranger-Forums ( www.ranger-forums ) convert their 2wd Edge to 4wd because of the ease (since the only thing needed to add was the axle).....

Yup. Additionally they come with rubber floor mats instead of carpet like an XLT. Plus some years you couldn't get a 4dr cab and 4.0 engine together in 2WD (don't ask me why, you just couldn't in 2002 and some other years also).
