I have a 94 f150 with a good motor and a 97 explorer that has water in the bottom end due to a cracked head what I want to know is can I take everything from the explorer 5.0 and swap it over to the f150 5.0 and use it for a swap in a 98 mazda b4000 is the block and the bottom end the same I know the heads intake and a bunch of other stuff aint but will this work

Yes, the block and heads will be the same as far as a swap goes

'97 explorer may have GT-40P heads which had a different spark plug angle than other 302 heads, which can present a problem using the F150 exhaust manifolds

Good detailed read here on that: https://www.fullsizebronco.com/foru...ne-bronco-gt40p-heads-gt40p-headers-work.html

Bronco and F150 are the same from cab forward

The intakes will not be the same, the F-series intakes were much taller, there was more room in the engine bay, explorer intake is lower, which is why they can fit in a Ranger

yea that kinda what I was thinking I was planning on buying a set of trick flow or some sort of aftermarket heads for the f150 engine use the explorer intake and the accessories oil pan and computer and harness from the explorer pretty much just using the f150 block

Make sure the F-150 engine has a cam (I think it should by then) with the same firing order as the Explorer.

take that back it is not so cam and maybe distributer swap also probably lifters and push rods to would need to be swapped to the roller setup

Possibly, the '150 should be a roller but the Explorer computer will be using the HO firing order.

94 can have the 1372 firing order. if it has the roller cam same as sploder it is the same firing order.

i thought if it was maf it was the 1372 f/0....but thats not 100 percent.

i have pulled gt40 heads off of vans as well.(3 bar) those were maf and 1372 f/0.

well may have the firing order on it some where not sure just need to tear into it and find out planning on new seals and gaskets anyway also the mazda is 2wd will the 2wd 4r70w work without changing the drive shaft

yes....should be 28 spline.

you may have to shorten or lengthen the shaft though. generally you can make it work with no mods and careful engine placement.

I think it would be pretty unlikely that the f150 would be roller cam, but, only one way to find out for sure.

94 F150 had the same cam later used in the Exploders. He's good to go there. Ford revised the pistons in the 'sploders in 98 but up until then the short blocks were the same behind the timing cover

94 is a crossover year.....if it was 95 it would have a roller. 302 or 351.

For some reason I didn't think the truck motors got roller blocks/cams unless they were lightings.
