What is the Average Cost of A Dealer Tune Up

Im Planning on bringing My 05 Ranger 4.0 V6 in for a Tune up. Im going to ask the Dealer to Replace the Spark Plugs, Ignition wires, PCV valve and Fuel Filter. Just wondering what is a Ball park figure for the Dealer to replace these Items?

It's hard to say. At my shop it would probably be in the area of $500-600. But labor rates can vary widely by area. My shop is $79.95/hour, but I know dealers near Philly and NYC can be upwards of $120. Also, I have no idea what sales tax is in NY.

Here in western WA a 30, 60, or 90,000 mile dealer service will cost somewhere around 800 to 900 dollars for a 4 liter.

The 30/60/90 should not be costing almost $1000.

Oil change, tire rotation, coolant, trans fluid, filters, etc. I'm not coming up with $800.

If you got the tools do it your self, if not take your truck to the dealer with a can of grease, bend over and ask them to apply it to your behind before they give you the bill, I worked for a VW dealer in Ca. for 10 years we all wanted to do the 30K check up on Vanagons cause all you did was look at this and that and change the four plugs, then it went to the lubeman, who changed the oil and filter and checked fluid levels labor was $230 parts $55 total $285 this was 20 years ago billed for 2-1/2 hours real time less than 1 hour

I would also like to point out that working as a dealer tech, pulling a year-long average of 50 hours a week I am still not making enough to support my family if my wife would loose her job for some reason.

Add to that the fact that fast food workers are now striking and picketing and demanding to make the same amount an hour that I do and they don't have to spend ump-teen thousand dollars on tools and tool box to do their job.
