what i found in my glovebox

Not quite my dad, but a good friend of mine. :D

Back in '92, he was in the market for a new truck. He need something that was 4wd, had four doors, and was easy to work on. So he did his homework and walked in to the local Ford dealer and started taking to the sales personel on the car side of things who said "You can't get an Exploer that way. Here let me show you what I've got in stick!"

So, he went over to the commercial truck side of the dealer becuase he KNEW this would be a custom order. Even worse, he had a set price he would pay, $250 over invoice. Eventually, he got what he wanted: a 2.3, 4x4 5-spd, 4-door Explorer XL in medium blue and with alloy wheels!

Sorry. He sold it last year. I'll see if he has any kicking around. I gave a passing thought to buying it.

It is very funny what you can find behind the glove box. I bought my Ranger used and it has had 2 owners previously. I have been driving it all this time without knowing what was behind the glove box. Until one day, when I did the Electronic Automatic Temperture Climate (EATC) control conversion, I found this:

Guess the Ranger got its first service at 3,000 miles. And the truck orginal was from Seminole, OK on 7/20/96. But oddly enough, somewhere between the 1st and 2nd owner, it was sold at a Ford lot in Shawnee, OK. I can this by the dealer decal on the tailgate.

Tony, was that your Bronco II that started it's life in Maine?

It makes me wonder how the truck ended up in northeast Arkansas.

It's weird because I had a friend who origionally hails from Ellsworth.

tony is originally from upstate NY , and his mom bought the bronco when it was only a couple years old i believe , he has pics in his build thread of when he was a little kid with it

under the carpet of my explorer i found the original line ticket , suprisingly intact for a ne york vehicle , the floor boards never rotted out

My build thread is located HERE

while the b2 was originally purchased at a dealer in ellsworth, the first owner lived in bangor, which is about 45 minutes away. Sewell was the guy's last name.

That b2 has been with me from upstate NY, to south TX, and here in AR.

Cool. It's a nicely used B2. My friend's last name is Bunker. (the first IS NOT Archie!) :D

i got my 2009 fwd for 21,000. bought it overseas tax free where no one wants a ranger. all they want is f150 and rams.

i got my 06' supercab 4x4 with 26k on it for 14,500. They wanted 17k for it

I have that little tag thingy too and my window price original sticker....... 4.10 gears 4x4 5spd fancy interior......... spray in bedliner from dealer.

38,000 miles for 9k with carfax and window tint per my request (bedliner and trailer hitch too) they wanted 10.5k

It now has 50k, and I still love the truck. it was 26kish new. and it still blue books 12.5 stock.
