I've been wanting to do my own exhaust and taking care of the leaking lip seal in my rear of the truck. So..What better time to do it then on a long weekend.
Here's some shots of my truck and my friends 2001 Ranger. He's on TRS and RPS as billab0ng86. He came over to give a hand with changing the seal in the rear. It was really easy but nice having a second person to hang out with and help.
Sorry for the blurry pics.
Didn't get any pics of the tear down and us working inside the old 7.5 but everything seemed great. Nothing out of the ordinary in there..Changing the seal and bearing was pretty easy.
Then yesterday I put on my own "custom" exhaust. I cut the pipe off just at the hanger after the cats. From there, I put back on my Magnaflow strait through stainless steel muffler, ran a 90 degree 2.25" pipe and one 45 degree 2.25" pipe to the exhaust tip. The pipe up near the muffler was welded but the rest was only tacked and held in place with clamps incase I ever need to bring it down. However, I did weld the pipe to the shackle hanger to keep it from moving. In the pics, it looks angled up a bit high...In person it's not bad at all...
I do want to cut it back a little tiny bit plus I need to level the tip a little bit...It's a tad crooked..What do ya think?
I'll add some pics tomorrow when it's light out of what it looks like underneath.
