What has everyone else done to prevent Hurst leak

I got the Hurst short throw in there and I am definitely warming up to it.

I have two issues.

One, I need to adjust the height of the shifter, it is far too low for me to shift comfortably. I have two options here: Contact Summit and/or Hurst and request a longer stick, or make an adapter to get it to fit right.

The second issue is that there is a horrible leak between the shifter and the gasket. This shitty gasket/seal is worthless! What have you guys done to keep it from leaking, I've searched the forums and the only thing I find is to buy gasket paper and throw rtv on it.... this doesn't solve the problem of excessive pressure in the case.... Are there any negatives to having a build up of pressure in the transmission?

Once I attend these issues I think I will be madly in love. All relationships start off with problems, those are the ones that sometimes have the closest bonds. That's where I want to be with my shifter, happy and as one.

P.S. I wanted to add, I will be contacting both Summit and Hurst during the week and I will definitely post my feedback to what they tell me.

you didn't fill the trans all the way to the top, did you?

No, it hasnt been changed at all. All I swapped was the shifter.
