I just did the math on the percentages above because the numbers looked strange to me. As of right now, 104.77% is the total makeup of the poll rather than 100%. LOL.

83-88 17 40.48% should be 38.63%
89-92 11 26.19% should be 25.00%
93-97 8 19.05% should be 18.18%
98-11 8 19.05% should be 18.18%

That might be because I made it so people could vote for more than 1.

The best is Gen 4 but I would like chrome front bumpers brought back.
2nd best would be Gen 2....love that front end!
3rd best would be Gen 3....never did like the front end.
On the bottom would be Gen 1....not a big fan. I owned a brand new 84 with the 2.0 and dealer added a/c and in the dead of summer in Florida....what a weak ride. Would have got a carbed 2.3, but they didn't seem any better.

Yes, you are right that 4th gen is really weird. 98-00 01-03 04-05 06-11, then you also have the 93-94 which have the same interior as the 89-92. Ford does weird shit, like changing the 4-cyl mid-2001!

I only seperate generations by exterior styling. As do most major car manufacturors and information centers.

good i can vote for more then one. as i have a 2011 and 1997 so 4th and 3rd gen. but my 1st was a 1st gen b2 (still the nicest just getting too old these days)

Gen 1 here. I've had 1st, 4th and 5th gens, and loved them all pretty equally. I have a lot of faith in the first gen though. My Dad has an 86' with over 500k on it (original motor)!!......................................................................................................................................Granted, he replaced the heads once, three water pumps, two clutches, and the 7.5. That's still pretty incredible. Gota give props to the 2.9!!! It's a runner..
