I always hear about this gen and that gen. What actually are the years associated with 1st gen , 2nd and so on. thx guys

the rangers 1st gen was from 1983 to 1988, the 2nd gen was 1989 to 1992, 3rd gen was from 1993 to 1997. then current gen is the 4th gen from 1998 to present.

well... 4th gen is technically 98 to 00. then 5th is 01 to present. I go by headlight style
