Been looking around for gears for my truck and cant decide what to run i have a 3.0 5spd right now im running 31s but soon to change im looking at either a 4.88 or 5.13 with a spool in the rear what should i go with ?

That's a very open ended question.....and IIRC 4.88's aren't available for a TTB D35

1. Whats the intended use of the truck? -sand/Daily Driver/rock crawler
2. What size tire do you plan on running.

4.56s with 33" mudders are a little better than stock gears and 28s on my 2.9l.

i will sell the axles out of my truck or just the 4.56s that are in them if you are interested. also 4 35x13.5x15 toyo open country M/Ts on brand new american racing rims for sale.

4.88 seems to still be available, it's 5.13 that's apparently missing in action right now. :icon_confused:

Yes, we need to know what size tire you'll be changing to before anyone can recommend a gear ratio.

The truck has a 8 inch lift on it right now i dont know if i plan to keep it that way but in the future i plan to run at least 33s this truck is my wheeler pretty much so it doesnt get much use

2.9/3.0 and 35's = 4.88
4.0 and 35's = 4.56
:D

For a trail truck, weekend warrior etc.

If i can still find the 5:13s should i go with them in stead of the 4:88 in case i want to go to a bigger tire i still have the gear or will this just be to low of a gear

5.13 is the ideal ratio if you want to go with 35s. It'll work with 33s too (especially on a dedicated wheeler), although the engine will be a bit breathy above 65 MPH or so.

I would get on the horn with some of the actual gear manufacturers if you want 5.13 because it seems Precision has dropped the ball here. If other companies are made aware the demand is still present, someone else may pick it up.
