What automatic shifter you folks running? Building a 2wd, 351, AOD sport truck. Engine is done and nearly ready to gut the engine bay for the swap. Doing an 8.8 swap with 3.73LS this weekend. I searched…
The B&M Unimatic is one of our easiest shifters to install and operate. Our engineers designed this performance automatic shifter to resemble a manual 4-speed shifter. This shifter uses the factory transmission detents for easy positive shifts and is an ideal replacement for moving your column...

That's what I have on my C5. There are no detents - be aware of that, it just clicks into gear where ever the trans has a gear on the selector arm. Some of them are pretty hard to feel, for example going from Park to Reverse is like 1/4" of movement but there is more space between other gears. There is nothing preventing it from being slammed into park from another gear either... it just moves in a straight line.
Something like this might be a little "safer" if you are worried about it getting bumped:
I know you've already selected one, but add my 2 cent for future searchers and readers. When I was going to put the 5.0 & 4R70W in a first gen I had selected the B&M Quick Silver shifter with an adapter kit. They have the same shift pattern, so it should work for the AOD too.

I have a b&m quicksilver ratchet/slap shifter on the floor in my 97 2wd, 302 roller motor with carburetor, distributor, AOD b&m 2400 stall, 8.8 3.55 posi. Love the truck! Still a project truck, but it's getting there
