What double din units fit best.

I was wondering about this as well. I have a couple of Axxera double DIN's but wasn't sure if this was possible. Not sure if it is worth it or not. All I want is to be able to use Bluetooth, listen to my music turned up to 11 and play a few cd's here and there. Also, this needs to be able to run a system. If I can't bump around town with my 12" L7 kicker then I don't want any part of it.

If you're not looking for touch screen, there are plenty of great options these days. JVC has done really well the last few years with radios that have a ton of features at a reasonable price. Are you trying to amp all the speakers or just the sub?

For what it's worth, I don't really like the interface on the JVC's right now - they just seem ugly. Here's one option that gives you preouts for everything with a display that I like better:

Or, for $10 more this one gives you an extra year of warranty and better pre-outs for the amplifier:

Whatever radio you get, this would be a wise investment. The description doesn't specifically say "chowder-proof", but it would give the new radio a fighting chance.

My 0.02 - i wouldnt bother with a unit that has onboard GPS ... I would just get a carplay/android auto unit. They come pretty cheap, for branded i was looking into the Sony XAVAX1000, brandless the ATOTO Year SA102.
I have just installed the ATOTO (side note - it fits weird, i'll post something about it in another thread).

Also, just in case, i'm looking to sell my Ford factory radio, in the region of $40 ...

You just need the trim kit and a few minutes to modify the bezel to make it fit. Quick and easy.

Check out this video, at the 2:45 mark

I dont think you can get away without cutting the top and bottom lip
