What does your engine sound like when you rev it?

I'm going to upload a video of me revving my engine. Whenever i rev it in neutral, it makes a eSHHH noise..and im wondering why it does this. Maybe the noise will be familiar to you guys when you hear it.

Does your v6 4.0 make a sucking noise when you rev it?

You may have a vacuum leak or a hole/obstruction in your intake hose. Is like a whistle?
Try having a buddy rev it while listening for where the sound is coming from exactly.

i took my TB cover off so i can rev it myself.

mine just sounds like a 4.0L when i get to about 4 grand she whines like a savage, lol dynomax exhaust

The sucking noise kinda went away, and there isn't as much hesitation, but i still have a vacuum leak at the egr retainer.

My engine used to sound like crap, some squeaking, which was obviously something on my belt. I thought my power steering pump was going out, until my alternator seized and snapped my belt. The bearing went out on my alternator. After replacing that it sounds great!

it sounds like its making a sucking noise when i rev before the r's go up

the AC compressor makes a squeak noise for me

Mine sounds kinda cool for a half a second then it goes va va va va va va va. I hate rev-limiters.
