What does Ford think the Maverick is for?

How did we go from discussing the Maverick to discussing Cummins shipping crates?

In ag applications the 5.9 never made more than like 170hp.

500k shouldn't be unheard of on a 90's/00's engine in a road vehicle... if the carcass of the vehicle can hang with it.
I’d say if the computers can last.

A new ram has almost twice the torque...
With a bigger turbo it can get up toward 1000. 600 is bone stock with tuning… actual tuning… mechanical injection and all.

msrp was 20k (36 today). Not too sure how that compares.

Ford's Copilot 360 has a pedestrian detection system. Not sure how it works when there's an unseen child right in front of the vehicle. For some of these trucks, the child would have to be 10-20' in front in order to see it. Other manufacturers have systems that will brake for a pedestrian.

The US actually has no pedestrian safety standards. Instead of implementing standards for pedestrian safety, the NHTSA chooses to educate pedestrians on how not to get run over:

Good.

You weren't required to pass any emissions tests either...

The Motorweek video shows the regular cab dually with the gas V10 starting from $26k in 1996. That's $50k these days, and you're not getting the diesel for that price.

They make tuners for the newer ones too...

I had to give tuned numbers for the 5.9 to make it more of an apples/apples comparison with modern. 215/440 wouldn't sell many trucks nowndays.

... We sure are making some headway in deciding the Maverick's place in the world aren't we.

I sure do wish there was a place we could talk about the Ford Maverick.

@rusty ol ranger just go there and sign up... you know you wanna!

Have you heard of…

I assume you have.

It would be a bit of a bummer to have to join a different site just to occasionally talk about a truck I'm likely to never buy.

I understand and respect that Jim wants to get some more traffic over there.. but still.

I'm glad we're past the point of locking these threads though.

What rhymes with "Maverick Truckin' Forum"?
