The guy said he was gonna swap it into his ranger. He doesn't know the mileage, but he says he bought the engine from an ASE certified Mechnic, and compression is good. Is this a correct year where I could swap the engine and Ecu in? would I have to modify one of the wiring harnesses? Will it bolt up to my trans?

P.S my truck is a 1995 b2300 base model

It will bolt up to your transmission and is correct for all your swap needs.

The only thing I do not know how to work around is the OBDII of your truck and the OBDI of the T-bird engine, although, there is plenty of information on this site to help you figure it out.

Btw, $400 is a hell of a deal.

I've been told you can buy conversion harnesses that convert From OBDII to OBD I?? Idk though I spent all night yesterday searching for a solution on this site and I couldn't find a suitable answer

try "the detail zone" for a harness..... i expect it to be near 500 though for the harness..... are you sure you are obd2? some 95s are obd1, just depends on the build date....

Well idk about the build date, but I know it has the OBD II connector next to the hood release.

I have a new Idea.

Could I just remove the forged internals and all parts needed from the TC and put them in the engine I have now and then Get a retune to handle the boost?

Plus...?

Turbo and exhaust manifold, 90mm maf conversion, and then the boost gauges and tach and such. Anything im missing?

And if i do this i can for sure get it retuned?

Where's the best place to get a good set of hi performance pistons and rods for a 2.5 lima?

if you want to do it on the cheap, get a small journal 2.3 crank, then a set of stock 2.3turbo rods and pistons...

if you want 2.5 you need aftermarket rods and pistons,, about 4 for the rods and 4 to 6 for pistons... you could tie up a grand in the shortblock quickly...

the 2.3 route you could do for a few hundred...

Well I thought I wanted to go 2.5 but now I don't think I'm so partial to it anymore. Lol how much boost do you think the stock setup can handle? I'd really like to get it turbo'd soon. Can always rebuild later I guess or would that be a bad idea?

any '89-97 2.3 crank will be fine, they're all the same

Thanks. Looks like I'll be able to get one pretty cheap and even better it comes with the block lol. One of the junkyards here has a few 2.3 rangers between 93-97, an I can get the block for $68. I think I'll pick up the head to so I can get it ported and polished and build most of this motor without pulling my truck off the road for too long.
