I had to take all my tools out of my tool box because I got snow in my box working outside in our last snow storm. Wiping them all down it made me think about what I carried and why.

There are a few obvious things I carry such as a spindle nut socket, breaker bar, (2) screwdrivers to place on each side of the clip and 15mm socket to remove the spindle nuts when replacing an axle.

I carry more stuff than just that and have assisted people on the trail with things like my Jump Pack and even an extra relay.

I was just wondering what you guys carry in your tool kits on the trail?

my tool box in the truck always has everything, full socked set, full set of wrenches, jumper cables, jump box charging in the cab, high lift jack, straps and chains, come along, chain hoist......pretty much anything to fix anything on the trail, along with spare axles and ujoints for everyhing, onthing i dont carry with me is a spare rear driveshaft

Chains, bottle jack, rope, come along, jumper cables(use those alot to help other people) 168pc craftsman tool set with a ton of extra stuff in it, electrical tools, ect.....

The item I use the most is my 4 Cell Maglight with the Mag LED in it. AKA the Light Cannon.

And Duct tape!

I shgould be getting one together....
I carry:
Spare tire
Quart of oil
Tow strap
Usually a chian
Jumper cables
Hi lift jack
Set of metric wrenches 8mm-24mm
Usually I'll throw in a couple pairs of socks and a pair of pants and a good jacket and an extra pair of shoes/ boots
And that's about it...

I haven't really done much wheeling that is a long way from home. Usually I am only 20-30 minutes from home. My cousin who I always go wheeling with, he is the one that always has actual tools, so I never carry much.

12 drawer tool box FULL of stuff
spare high output alternator
starter
maf, crank sensor other misc sensors, coil pack and wires
litre of gear oil, 2 litres of transmission fluid
rope, jumper cables
sleeping bag, and mats to lay on
shovel, bottle jack
rolls of wire
work shoes and clothes
misc light bulbs
power inverter that could be used to charge the batterys for my cordless impact gun or power my laptop.

Ive never had to use anything on the side of the road or offroad, but its there just in case!

I carry my tool box with me everywhere because I always end up needing it for something
