What did YOU do today?

We hung around Olympic Park for a couple hours watching the squirrels before the concert.

Wow. I’ve lived here since 1979, and I didn’t know you could see the capital from Olympic Park.

The squirrels escaped.

Actually, I can't believe you would denigrate squirrels by comparing politicians to them.

Fat tailed rats that will do anything for a couple peanuts…

I'm a Class-A driver, and the longest time I've sat in one city outside of DFW was ATL. Five hours creeping through. I'm 43, so old enough to remember The Old Way, but young enough to watch that ship sail into the sunset while holding the last ticket. I wanted those values to hold out just a little while longer.

So far today I fired up the tractor again to till another pass but picked up rocks beforehand, then picked up rocks again before taking the box scraper around moving dirt then again after taking the chain harrow to it, so far have about a 5 gallon bucket worth of golf ball or bigger rocks... and a hose clamp... Next step is to take a big landscape rake and do some fine tuning before the last pass with the chain harrow...

Traveled out to Osage Farms to see what they had. Not much yet. A lot of Florida stuff. Not personally a fan of Florida cantaloupe. Too small, and not very flavorful. Not a single one passed the slap & sniff test.

Went to work, did errands, came home.

Debating on whether or not I wanna fire up the chainsaw or play some San Andreas... As of now.. I think San Andreas might take the W lol.
You had one job, CJ!

Unloaded the Choptop from this week’s adventures and after putting everything away, I decided to see about finishing my work on the brush hog for now. Cleaned up the tear in the outer driveshaft plastic sleeve cover and because it still snagged on the inner sleeve, I plastic welded the outer sleeve back together and now it more or less works as advertised again.

Then I got really ambitious and did a real world deadlift and sketchily propped the brush hog up on a corner so I could weld the bottom from a more comfortable position. Got that done and was scratching my head over how I was going to get it set down without getting hurt and the neighbors kid came past so I shot my neighbor a text and asked if one of them would be available and my neighbor Jerry stopped like 15 minutes later and helped me set it down.

So now being excited to see how well my notch would work out I had to hook it back to the tractor and see. That lead to lubing the lever that works the lift so it moves smoothly again. Well, I still can’t lift it to the top without the driveshaft hitting, but I sort of expected that would be a possibility. I was reluctant to make my notch any deeper for fear of either creating a real snag point on the front of the deck and concerns over getting too close to the blades. Just not trying to have those problems. Without the over-run coupler I might be able to get full lift with the notch that I made, but I want to use the coupler. I get about half of the lift range now with the notch. Should be good enough. Probably test it out sometime this week.
