What did YOU do today?

Besides the Ranger stuff, I cleaned up mom's mower to get it running right again. There were leaves and pieces of hickory nuts under the tins on the engine, and the air filter was so stopped up it was running choked all the time. Then mowed her yard and my sister's across the road. Came home and mowed my yard (still gotta run the trimmer), then went to mexican with Brittney and mom.
Mmmm.... Mexican....

Eye was feeling better so Friday’s work continued on the F-150 this afternoon. Got the rotted radius arm bracket changed, thankfully no more serious problems. Debating if I want to try and do something about the passenger side tomorrow. The bushing is in bad shape but the bracket looks ok-ish. I have the bracket from the donor but it’s also only ok-ish. I have enough bushing pieces to patch something together but what I don’t have is a good heat shield for that side. Not sure how critical that is, I’d like to move onto other projects because I really want the dump truck up and going this year.

Soup can cut to length?
That’s actually not a bad idea… I have a few floating around the shop because I use them to collect small metal bits and crimp the top when they are full and throw them for shredder scrap…

Was it the top one or the bottom one you got in your eye?

And I also vote for fab the heat shield. Something is better than nothing. And it doesn’t take much to deflect heat.If you do use a tin can or aluminum can, bathe it in rust oleum, and let it dry, and then slap oleum on it right when you bolt it in, so there are no bare spots.

That’s what the voice is in my head tell me
