What did YOU do today?

responded to a car accident yesterday, 2 white vehicles, sounds like one of them did not have their lights on

Too cool, unfortunate circumstances. Appreciate your service.

I used to have the red lights on my F250 when I was doing the HAZMAT emergency response, before the fire departments started doing it all, but they never let us have sirens unless we went through the Police driver training course. Too much liability. Red lights got us through traffic jams in the city, but I never wanted my guys speeding

It was my company with a partner, and I/we wasn’t the one who responded to the day-to-day stuff, only the really big stuff and political stuff. Siren (legal) is on my bucket list, probably forever more. I doubt it will move off the list. Biggest excitement I ever get these days along those lines is when there’s torrential rains or the rare big snowstorm, and they call me out to sit by a bridge that they fear will be swamped, or at the bottom or top of the long hill. Woo hoo!

Went shopping for some liquid shop essentials after work then after I got home I measured then cut, sanded then painted a piece of plywood for the loft ceiling, tomorrow I'll get it installed... After that then there's only two more pieces and that portion will be done... by the looks of the 5 gallon bucket of white paint I've been working on I think I'll be able to do one more sheet of wood with it so I'll need to get more soon...

I also did some surgery on a 4' LED light that I had pulled down, when I pulled it I did some troubleshooting and was blaming the pull chain switch, I had conveniently pulled another light that had more catastrophic issues and salvaged the switch so soldered that switch to the other light and so far so good...

I’m always amazed at how many light colored vehicles drive around in fog with no lights on. I watched 4 cars come past the house in heavy fog in a 15 minute time period and 3 of them had no lights and one had the front DRL lights only and all were light colored. Dumb. Very dumb.
It sure is, and coming from a first responder stand point, very very frustrating

Put the wheels and tires on the wife's wrangler.

So the wheels were not moto metal. They are actually american outlaw. I took the tires that came stock on my truck and dismounted them and reinstalled them on the new wheels. They are about a half inch taller then the tires and wheels that were on the jeep, even though the tire calculator says they should .3 smaller diameter. the rims are 1 inch wider then the stock jeep rims and offset an inch farther outside so the wheels stick out 2 inches from where the stock ones sat. We did satin because the gloss was to shiny.

My wife loves it so thats good.

Amen. That's second only to safety for the wife's ride.

I've spent some time today inspecting my wife's old flatscreen. I had been using it on my security system. Apparently we got some power flashes the other day and when I came back upstairs it was off. Not even a power LED. Power seems to be ok. Backlight comes on when the mainboard is unplugged. Hard to say for sure cause both of my home multimeters are acting stupid. But, both boards were $30 total so I got them ordered and well see.

I went & looked a a ‘89 F150. hope to add it to my driveway soon, title issues (estate situation) hopefully it works out. Went to dinner at a new place. Getting cold out again, the breif thaw was a tease.

I’ve been working on a bathroom remodel for a buddy. 3 layers of floor later we are at a partially rotted subfloor and still a few headaches to deal with. He’s been pouring money into things of course because the two most expensive rooms in a house are the bathroom and kitchen. Is what it is. I have to do some bracing underneath and finish removing the drains then it can all start going back together. Right now there’s two holes in the floor where rotted/damaged wood was. I’ve blocked it off so nobody gets a quick trip to the basement.

I trimmed back the shrubs with the chainsaw then took a shower after I was done so I wouldn't smell like chainsaw exhaust.

I’m 15 minutes into the men’s hockey game. 🇺🇸 1, 🇨🇦 0. Amazing stick and puck handling to make the score. It’s worth looking it up. I’m not the biggest fan, but I’ve been following it since college, and I’ve never seen such a great move

I moved from the kitchen out to the shed of miracles where I have it on the bigger screen, but I’m really working on the Road Ranger bumper and valence. Going to do some other Ranger stuff, but it’s 42° now and it’s supposed to constantly go down all day.

@Peter_'86_2.9L_Auto it’s coming over later to help me rehang the bumper. With my advanced age, I’m afraid of bashing my teeth out if try to shove it in place myself.

I’ll probably try that cam sensor later, but after the surgery on my arm, my fingers and hand tighten up almost instantly in the cold. It’s only a couple days, so either way I’ll have it done by the end of the week.
.
Oh, and did I say: “USA USA USA USA….”
