What did YOU do today?

Today was one of those days you hope for in the middle of the week: "Sunday, I just wanna sleep in, grab a burger with some friends, maybe a couple small errands, and just relax."

I found a cool quick inflator at Sam's Club. I'll see if anyone knows anything about it before spending $40 on it, but I like the idea!

Replaced driver's side mirror and ignition lock cylinder on daughter's focus. Programmer did not want to work, will have to call Dorman to get a replacement (car starts but you have to hold old key next to new one). Made hot sauce. HOT sauce. 50% reapers, and the rest an amalgam of habanero, ghost, and scorpion. Went with bacon fat, garlic, and pineapple. Just had some with dinner, good. I used balsamic for my vinegar, I like the tang.

That sauce sounds delicious.

Send me some? Sounds epic.

A week ago we ran up to Omaha in the Bronco. We had gotten some snow and there was a decent bit of road spray. Low washer fluid light was on which was weird but I didn't think much of it, there should be some reserve if it had just come on before and my wife said she hadn't used it much.

A passing Ram throws a ton of slush on the windshield so I hit the washer. Wipers wipe and washer does nothing. We swing by a gas station and pay thru the nose for a jug of juice... and it does nothing. Have to stop two more times during the trip to clean the windshield and it was like 2* so I was thrilled.

Get home and had my kid run the washer and I don't even hear either the front or rear pump try. A few days later my wife pipes up the light came back on.

I think great, the thing froze and broke the pump and reservoir.

Highs were in the mid 40's today so I dug into it. I check the rear end... and we have washer fluid.

Pulled the rear side trim panel loose. I think it was the first trim panel installed in the car. There were two smaller ones I had to remove, the one that goes across the back is above it (and the cargo tie down brackets are on top of it) and the second row footwell trim is on top of it also. Popped the two upper parts off and the footwell trim and I got it pulled enough out to look in there... and the hose had came loose.

This is looking from the rear passenger door, that is the left rear wheel well. The hose goes down along the footwells and up to here so there probably isn't a ton of pressure on it to drain the jug immediately.

Reassembled everything with the addition of a hose clamp and decided to check fuses... fuse number 16 was blown. Kudos to Ford for clearly marking both fuse function and number.

Thanksfully I have not been cursed with really any issues that warranted me keeping micro fuses on hand (actually can't think of a time I ever replaced one before) so I had to run to town and get a pack.

Fun fact the Mini fuses took up too much room so we developed the micro 2 fuses... which therefor meant a second trip to town and to a different store.

But the main thing is both window washers work again!

I don’t know why they keep developing different size/shape fuses. It’s irritating to keep a selection on hand for each vehicle. I order big 150piece assortments in Amazon and make up smaller assortment boxes to keep in the trucks. Spares in the motorcycle, too.

I AM glad they don’t use the old glass fuses anymore. But sone vehicles need Maxi, Mega and mini or micro all in one vehicle.

Since I tore open the pack I hope my F-150 uses the others... otherwise they are trash.

My tractors still use the glass ones lol.

i had to have these for my aircooled vws. they were nice because you could just spin them to clean the connections
