What did YOU do today?

I'll tell you what I haven't done, is change my dag gum center support/carrier bearing out yet. Called dealer today. Still no estimated delivery date. Dang bearing is flopping around and making a sweet grinding noise. I'm about to cancel and just order the whole driveshaft assembly from Amazon. How bad is this on my trans and rear diff?

Tried it damp. Tried it wetter than damp. Tried it wet. Tried a wall scraper:

That didn’t work. Then I tried a heavy duty floor scraper with a blade that could do some damage:

That didn’t work.
But an 80 grit flap disk… that worked. It left the wall a little too damaged.
The best I’ve come up with has been the wire wheel cup on an angle grinder. That knocks the sand off the wall, then I can smooth it out with my palm sander and a drywall screen.

I don’t have all my tools here, so I’m limited in what I can try.
I think I would have replaced the sheetrock, lol. I hate using a grinder with a wire wheel so I wouldn’t be dedicated enough to use it to clean texture off a wall

i would imagine its probably terribly bad to have the driveshaft flopping around and trying to bang the input gear of the diff around.

Well after raising 3 kinds of hell and blowing up the phones today. They some how found 1 in Atlanta that will be here by the end of the week. Fingers crossed

Put the one edger tool back together and sharpened the blade on the other, replaced some ribbons on my uniform ribbon rack, and fabricated a bracket to hold the desk keyboard tray in place. That's about it other than going to the chiropractor.

If it gets too bad, use silicone sealant as a temporary measure. For the rubber portion.

I may do that tomorrow just to keep it together till the new one arrives. Never even thought of that.

I put a new larger tool box in the pickup bed.

Looks great. Can’t do that around here. If it’s not a metal strong box around here, some of the street people think it’s just left on the street for their taking.

I totally get that. I've got a tonneau cover which helps. That oak box is still pretty damn strong. I keep it garaged. So I just use a cheeseball lock. So far, no problems.

I had a similar box on my CJ5 for years with no problems either.

Everyone keeps telling me to replace the sheet rock. Nope. I refuse to allow an inanimate object to win. I don’t care what it takes, that texture will be removed. I don’t care if I have to pick every single spec of sand off that wall with tweezers.

I admire a man who does not give in to gypsum that is identifying as concrete…

Turns out dailying a project car you bought on facebook marketplace isn't for the weak. One minute you spend $1000 on some tires and the next you are cancelling your weekend plans to install a head gasket...
