What did YOU do today?

Got the oil In the wheeler changed another 2 times.. it now comes out looking like caramel instead of a straight up vanilla milkshake so... progress! Lol. Hopefully putting another gallon or two through it does the trick.. well see. Still no smoke or noises.. good ol yamaha.

Bathroom break right now... then gonna go finally unbox the welder and get it ready for action 🙂 gonna snag myself a HF welding cart on Saturday then we'll be good to go.

Ran a few errands, then rebuilt the fuel filter bowl on the F250. Details in that thread later this evening.

Ordered a new drag link and muffler for my dodge.
Ball joint on the end of the drag link was beat to hell, I’m sure that a big part of why the steering is so sloppy.

Exhaust pipe was broke off right where it connects to the factory muffler.

Got a Flowmaster “FlowFX” muffler. I thought this series was supposed to be one of the quieter ones. Turns out it’s a glass pack. :) ooops.

2 2.5” pipes into one 3” pipe.

Today I took my dog for a walk and we came upon a black bear. So I told my dog to chase him away and he went straight up the closest tree. And it was right by where my car was parked beside where a homeless dude was passed out on the grass so I went and woke the guy up so he was aware of what was happening and gave him some money I had in my pocket.

Well, I helped dad a little with his newly used tractor we got yesterday (used the green Ranger and little trailer to fetch it home, hitch height is a problem with the Ranger, but I have a plan for that). Also blew the leaves off the driveway to my shed, used the Ferguson tractor to fetch the back blade up to my shed to prep for repairs. Made templates for the plates I need to cut and made templates for some of the plates I need for the jib boom I’m going to build for the tractor plus some other stuff. Hopefully tomorrow I can take a stab at cutting some steel so I can get moving on projects.

My plan on the jib was to put a piece of 3” C-channel flat across where the lower pins are, then stand up a piece of 2x2” 1/4” wall and plate the sides to tie the link to a pivot bolt for the boom, then have a kicker to come up from the C-channel to the boom and just have a couple settings so I have some height options if I need to get something in or out of the back of the truck. May make a slide in extension too at some point. I‘m not really sure if I’m ok with using the C-channel or if I should just use some 2x2” there too, but that means I’ll need another stick of 2x2”. Although, even if I use the C-channel, I’ll still probably need more 2x2” for the hitch I’m thinking of building for the tractor so I can move trailers. Might have to price a stick…

2.5 lb fire extinguisher in the tool box and 2 lb behind my seat just got them

Southbound and down.

En route to the big off roadeo near Austin.

I missed out on a deal on a complete set of torches. I don't do the Facebook thing... but I ended up searching the marketplace. Had to ask my daughter to message them and by the time she did... they had sold.

I was pondering creating an account just to do Facebook marketplace.
That’s what I did. All I use is marketplace and messenger. Didn’t even use my real name.

Hanging out at the campgrounds. A little on the chili side today so I fired up the wood stove in the camper. I revived my old 5th wheel but never put a new furnace in. Instead I made a small wood stove out of a 50 cal ammo can. 2 1/2” exhaust pipe for my chimney.

I played around with the Dirtbike a little this morning. Felt like a kid again! There are lots of field roads to explore here but it’s all pretty flat. Once we get my son’s bike fixed up where I feel it’s reliable there are a few off road parks a couple hours north that we can try out.

Wet, rainy day here. Backed the ranger trailer in and made some brackets for the 2x2 trailer axle I installed last year so I can mount the shocks back up, its just too bouncy without them for my liking. Got everything gassed up & put the ford tractor back in the garage, 3-point blade is on, maybe that will keep it from snowing this year, leave it parked in the tree line 1/4 mile from the house and it would surely snow. Wanted to change tires out but meh-Think I will just enjoy some downtime in the recliner with some hot cocoa, a electric fireplace and a movie or few.

I did a thing! A TREMENDOUS thing! (For me)

Installed the absolute simplest trailer light harness possible on the bronco lol.

Plug n play other than drilling a hole for a ground and running a power wire from the battery all the way rear and held together with supplied butt connectors (for now)

I should of started earlier in the day considering the time it starts to get dark. Worst part for me was trying to figure out where to run the stupid power wire and getting all covered in undercoating.

I need to get back underneath to run the damn power wire a little better and "clean it up" a bit as well as ditch the butt connectors for solder.. but its good enough for tomorrow anyways.. headed up to my potential property to ride wheelers and check it out.

I really don't care how easy of a job it is in reality. I HATE HATE HATE anything to do with wires & electricity apart from RC cars.. been dreading putting that damn thing in.. glad its 'done'.
