What did YOU do today?

Got the tractor back together & out of the garage, dug out my engine hoist to make putting the top hydraulic plate back on easier, turns out it was wider than the distance between the back tractor tires so I had to pull a tire. Still worth it. Clearanced the plate for the drawbar mount underneath so its not so close to the differential drain plug. Later I took off the straightpipe upright exhaust & put a underbelly stock setup on with a muffler. If it ever dries up I can try out the bush hog I bought a month ago. Now that Ive freed up a garage bay & got tractor parts & tools out of the gator I can now put the power bed lift on it and add sideboards.

Past few weeks have been shit.

After leaving an abusive relationship that I allowed myself to stay in for WAY TOO LONG last year, I managed to find myself someone else. Someone different. Someone with promise. Even moved in together the first of the year.

Nope. Another succubus.. hopped in the lifeboat and paddled away as quickly as I could.

Single man again. 'celebrated' this yesterday by meeting a buddy and his father at the local brewery after work where I promptly filled myself with bourbon and bacon wrapped steak tips and some awesome pretzels made from spent grain from brewing their beer.. gonna meet up with them down there again in an hour so I'm not stewing in the misery called life.

At least I have a couple solid friends, my shitbox ranger, and tools to work on it with. Got my argon tank filled too.

Just gotta keep reminding myself that it can ALWAYS be worse...

... Like... My ranger COULD have a 2.9 🤢🤢🤢... That's just about enough for a guy to decide to feed himself a lead breakfast..

Anyways. Onwards and upwards 👍🏻✌🏻

Well being hot and sunny i had to experiment taking the top off the Bronco so Corey could as she said "toot" around town today. Wasn't too bad. Probably get Zane to help next time. It was a little heavy. But does look good.

First car cruise of the year. Not a big one. Gave it a wash and some tire shine. Hung out for a few hours. Good pulled pork sammich and oldies/R&B music. Displayed my 3rd Place award plaque from Carlisle.

Worked on lopping and chainsawing the 20’ long top of a tree that the storm last night placed in my side yard from the adjoining city lot. Got about half done and said screwit, it’s Saturday.

Update.. coupled with a newly learned pro tip..

I started in on the bourbon yesterday not thinking I'd want any food... So I decided to forego getting a menu.. ordering the food I did was total impulse.. saw it all on their specials board..

Well... I got down there today and ACTUALLY LOOKED at their menu... And learned I paid 21 goddamn dollars on those few bacon wrapped steak tips 😶

I mean.. they were totally worth it but damn.. at least look at the menu before tying one on 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lotsa life lessons this week 😂

Did you work on it for 15 minutes!?!

Shoot man, I winched entire pine trees out of a pond recently, we pulled and cut over 4 of them in a Saturday afternoon.

That’s how some of these fancy places get away with food prices. They like it when you tie one on and start buying up the place, lol

Restaurants got kinda pricey the last few years.
A bar in my town is known for awesome and offbeat food. They have bacon-wrapped deep-fried S'mores and Nutella quesadillas. Also Buffalo chicken thighs because wings aren't big enough.

I definitely shouldn't of been surprised.. restaurant prices are damn near unbearable nowadays 😑

Bacon wrapped deep fried s'mores though... Need me some of that 🤤

Friday night I put the boat in the shop then jumped on the riding mower and mowed until dark which is all but about an hours worth of my mowing...

Yesterday I went to an auction with my mom and brother (and the wife and his woman too...), got some stuff but not much, some is staying on the trailer to hopefully take to the scrap yard next saturday if they're open... picked up the majority of it today since it went on for a long time... after we got done we had to go look at my mom's llama that isn't doing great, front ankles are weak and not at normal angles anymore, it's getting old...

Now I'm about to go look at and try to deal with some of my "treasures" and contemplate jumping on the tractor to rearrange some dirt while I have daylight. Then pull the tire that's going flat on the boat and see if it's salvageable, it's not that old but you can hear the air leak so it has to be obvious...

Well, I attempted to mow my property after dinner. Barely got started and suddenly there was a slapping sound under it and I had no more drive. Of course I’ve been meaning to get a spare because the one I have was bought online and is an inch shorter than it’s supposed to be.

I think I followed all of that, but you never finished up if you were able to get anything for your mom or your brother…

and you bought some stuff that you’re already thinking of taking to the scrapyard? That sounds like some of my wheeling and dealing…
