What did YOU do today?

Yesterday, I dumped some gasoline that was getting too old in the truck since power equipment can be more picky about fuel than vehicle engines. I also repaired the shed door that got blown off by the wind the other day. That will get it by for now. It should really be replaced since it has seen better days but it's still doing it's job and even cheap sheds aren't cheap anymore.

I can build quality sheds… :icon_rofl:

Did your standard 15 quart oil change on my F350 then changed the trans fluid... after that dinner then decided to finally change the horns on the F350 as well since both stopped recently... I'd grabbed the bracket and both horns off of a newer Ranger at the junkyard a few years ago (they were just staring at me and easy to pull), pulling both on the bracket didn't look doable last time I attempted but this time I pulled the horns off individually, still not fun but barely doable, they even work now! Then I got really crazy and polished the headlights, been a while so they were yellow again... oh and I changed the fuel filter since I had one and it's right there...

Not much yesterday since hay fever is hitting me hard this year. I finished breaking up the dirt and working the fall leaves into the dirt of the garden. Based on what I'm seeing, I think I will need to add some sand to the dirt. There is still too much clay. Adding the leaves will take care of the organic matter side of things as it breaks down and the worms eat it and poop it back out.

I also started cleaning up some of the aftermath in the garage from the fixing the 2019. I still need to finish that.

The storage cover for the Softopper came in yesterday. So I put that on the folded up Softopper as well.

Pulled this out of the Sport Trac yesterday. Now looking for a replacement...

Door lock actuator.jpg

Looks like a lock actuator to me...

Sorry. Yes, it is the left front door actuator from my 02 Sport Trac.
I didn't know what it was either until it stopped working:unsure:

Locked the keys inside the house, so I had to climb through a window in the rain to get inside ( barely fit lol)

Also stepped in a dog egg.. prior to climbing through the window.. but sadly didn't notice until I got back on my feet inside and saw it smeared on the couch 😑

..But then I had some burgers.. which was good!

..but now I have some indigestion.. which is bad.

Meh.

Did some reading on torsional rigidity though, that'll come in handy.

Several months ago, I took my school ring off my right hand and put it onto my left hand. With no feeling in the ring finger in the pinky, I was afraid of catching it on something and ripping the finger off.

Well, from being on that finger for 50 years, that finger was a little spoiler in diameter than my left ring finger. There was no way it was gonna slide off with a little soap. I use the dish soap and string method. It was pretty painful, but it actually worked like a charm. Of debating getting it resized in a few weeks. it’s off my fingers.

After my last few errands in the Missing Linc, I played musical cars so the Lincoln (automatic transmission) and the F250 (automatic transmission) were in a “drive out“ position. I’m not sure I can drive the stick shifts for a couple weeks after the surgery tomorrow.

I also had to set it up so Sweetpea can turn around her German rocket in the driveway when she picks me up at 5:15 to go under the knife.

🙏🙏🙏

Hang in there Mr Rick...

Wishing you good luck tomorrow.

Changed sparkplugs (original from 2009!)
Found that the valve cover leaks down into the sparkplug tubes
And argued with the clutch
I forgot that pulling the master cylinder down and out is the only way to get all of the air out ... so I will be doing that tomorrow

Any advice on my speedometer would be great ... all of the lights and the other guages work fine but the speedometer and odometer do nothing

It's a 283k mile 2.3l 2wd lol I'm not expecting miracles
Soon to order valve cover gasket set, tail lights and give it an oil change

It is missing one stupid part that I can't find new anywhere even though all of this style ranger used it

The bracket that bolts on with the drivers side front leaf spring bolt and holds the parking brake cables/equalizer
