Both The Missing Linc and The Road Ranger have slightly over 300. Missing Linc was a borderline basket case, but the cowboys who had it before me (you know, those nutty types that run wide open through the woods) kept all the running gear in good order until they blew the motor. I hunted all over and got a rebuilt 2.9 that had 40,000 miles on it from a wreck, folks I knew.
The Road Ranger was the opposite. A very well maintained one owner truck, everything worked but the cruise control, and it still had one dash light bulb, lighting the gas gauge. The interior and exterior were just faded, but knock on wood, mechanically it’s been superb.
Big Red, 96 F250 7.3 4WD has 118, all my mileage, it’s just getting broken in, but in the city, it’s like driving a school bus.
Ole Blue, the 88 Signature HP Town Car has about 75k, 87 Signature HP TC, Tuxedo, has about 110, and the 78 Mark V has about 120. No name yet. I think the reason the 78 has such low mileage after 47 years is because it gets 7 miles a gallon. Who in the world could afford to drive it?
And I’m just making conversation here, don’t want to rub salt in anyone’s wounds, but they’re all completely rust free. I think it might be one of the main reasons I stayed down here when I came down from the Big Apple area in Jersey 44 years ago.
