What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

This would be a sweet ride with a long travel kit.

Yesterday I picked up a shifter with a 2wd shifter boot, a tunnel cover, the shifter insulation and an ecm all from that 95 explorer. I’m gonna have to find the wiring diagrams for both the 91 explorer and the 95 explorer so I can re-pin the 91 harness to match the 95 ecm. That’s if the 91 harness will plug into the 95 ecm…

The guy I bought the parts from was a piece of work! A 20 sumthin year old kid who was obviously loaded. After we agreed on the price, I had to run to a atm and when I came back, he was standing by the driver door of the explorer, half asleep and drooling. I don’t know much about drugs but I think it was a heavy depressant. Maybe heroin or other opioid.

That’s when you hand him half the agreed money, say “here’s the other half”, load up your stuff, and leave. If he’s that messed up, he won’t realize it until your gone. :icon_rofl:

Bought a kinda neat kinda big NOS thing for it...

Grille guard?

Well that didn't last long...

The hard to make parts for a grille guard anyway.

Put on tires, a shifter and a new ecm. Now the temp gauge is fluctuate so much I’m afraid to drive it. Gonna go pick up new temp sensors in a few and pray that fixes it! Everything else is new but I didn’t do the head gaskets. The guy I bought it from did. I found quite a few things that he did incorrectly and I’m really hoping he didn’t screw up the head gaskets!!!

That's sound logic.

Make sure the cooling system doesn't have an air pocket in it.

Thanks guys! So I installed a manual temp gauge and it showed a fluctuation of 10 deg or so, 190-200 deg. Then I shut the hood and pinched the temp gauge’s wire which caused it to completely stop working.

Changed the tailgate cables on the '90 tonight, much better, the tailgate got a little tweaked since I was unloading a ~400lb 4 wheeler when the one side broke... it's just a little tweaked, not bad...

I was going to fix the center console "stuff" cubby lid but I couldn't find any wood toothpicks at the house... I have a box at work for whatever reason so I'll bring some home tomorrow...

I put a custom ranger vinyl decal on my tailgate today. Got it on eBay $10 shipped... I chose the font and size etc, from the eBay seller.

I may detail my rear splash guards with white paint. Says Ranger on them, but you can't really see it.

Put the roof racks on both Rangers to clear up space in the shed for the roof repair.

I am looking at it on cctv imaging how much fun it could be with that sway bar kit for sale in another thread.
