What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Sprayed mine down with dawn and let it be rinsed off all day in the rain. Thought about putting the leveling kit on the escape but that’s all I’ve done is think about it, just a pair of 1-1/2” spacers that go between the front struts and the body. Oh well, maybe next weekend- if I’m not playing with my tractors.

Took the 2011 on a tour of the county going to church and spending time with my sister, her husband, and her kids and my father and step-mother.

Drove it east to assist in conducting a Ham in a day course in Frenchville and drove it back yesterday. Got about 18 mpg out of it. I used to get 20 before I self inflicted mpg loosing mods to the truck. LOL

The high rider package was an option. It wasn’t stock on all STXs.
Well I guess that answers that. Still feel cheated that I have a non high-rider STX though

Excuse to get lift kit?
Like I needed an excuse :icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_welder:

The red Ranger and the dump truck are the only ones that are pretty much stock, the rest of my fleet, ehh, not so much. Some may look stock or stock-ish, but it’s a sham.

I didn't really pay attention to that back in the day... so I'm thinking many folks just didn't know.

If they would have looked closer... they probably would have sold a bunch more and maybe even continued that package.

I think you’re on to something. I know I’ve been pretty involved with Rangers and RBVs for the past 20+ years (now I feel old, lol) and for whatever reason assumed that all STX packaged trucks were factory high-riders, just like XLT gets you carpeted floors and usually the power options, Eddie Bauer typically means fully loaded and fancy, XL is your basic work rig, etc. Of course custom orders are a different animal (although at one time I think that earned them custom badges instead) and the random oddballs like my 2000 XLT (the blue one in my sig) that had power nothing and no cruise, but all the other usual XLT upgrades.

Cut 4 pieces of 2x6 and park on them, and put a little pine straw down to hide the blocks.

Hope it helps!

But you are adding more work for me like that, having to carry around 4 pieces of 2x6 and pine straw with me all the time to park on :icon_rofl:

Just screw them to the bottom of your tires and leave them there.

yeah and don't scrimp on the screws. be sure to get at least 1/4" diameter and 3" long lag bolts.

Quit whining. Do you want a high rider or not?

I’m not sure, haven’t really decided yet. I just feel cheated to have an STX non-high rider. It’s not really a priority to do anything about it at the moment though, need to focus on getting the green one and the dump truck back up. Then maybe I can come up with a plan for the red one

Need longer than 3” if I’m supposed to catch the rim with the lag for added support. What about the like truss lock lags, will they work better than chineseium lags?

Cut 1 1/2 coils off front spring and installed concentric bushings with my 3 year old "helping"
