What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Chain guides are delicious, can you blame them?

Drove to town and put gas in it so I could drive it again. Was graced with a beautiful sunset on the way home.

RonD has helped me more times than I can quote. He’s a darn good guy!

Drove it for an hour or so away from home. Let it stretch its legs a bit, got 'er up to 65 and my shifter knob started to rattle. Time to find a new one.

That's just the trucks way of showing that it's excited and happy to go so fast. Please don't get a new truck just because it's happy.

I know you like cheap and easy fixes, the knob on my '97 was extremely loose when I got it, I don't think it was even on when I picked it up... I put a strip of duct tape over the stub and pushed the knob back on, it's worked for over a year... I got the idea in my '90 (or was it the '91 explorer?) since the only thing I had was some dried up old used duct tape sitting around and that worked for a couple years until I went to an aftermarket knob...

The shift knob on something I owned (can't remeber) kept coming loose, I chewed a big wad of fruit by the foot up and mushed it into the knob then threaded it back on. Worked like a charm.

On the hunt for a d35 ttb drive shaft and I came across this sorry sight. She was hidden all the way in the back at the edge of the junk yard. :(

So I did the glove test and I can see coolant on the exhaust manifold on the drivers side . Pretty sure the overheating , at the very least blew one head gasket . Not sure I am going to invest another few k into this truck as I already have five other vehicles .
Can you guys give me an idea what I can sell this truck for as is ? Everything on the truck works and the body and frame are in good shape . Thanks for your input !

Figure blue book minus a couple grand for a crate motor plus a couple grand to pay someone to swap and then take a little more off just for the PITA of it... if it runs and drives well enough to know the trans is any good and that it goes down the road ok.

The engine being bad will scare many away.

My new interior, just couldn't stand the black and gray burlap anymore. Katzkin leather. So much better.
