What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I did an axle swap plus rear disc conversion for Victoria today. She's like a whole different truck now. Went from a 7.5 rear axle with 3.45 gears to a ranger 8.8 axle with 4.10 gears. Brakes work great 'cept the parking brake cables being shot. I can live with that for the moment.

Thats a pretty good gearing change

Finished up installing the supercharger on my 2011 yesterday, and did a shakedown this morning.

Little coolant leak from reusing a factory hose clamp, other then looking pretty good

How is the Moddbox plenum pipe? Going to be around the same cost to finish the Caster one I have, versus ordering the Moddbox one.

That install looks clean. Nice job.

Pipe that goes from the blower to the throttle body.

anodized Aluminium, solid pieces. No machined oring slots anywhere. Moddbox recommends black RTV. could make your own paper gasket if you want.

There are a few things I’m not a fan of with the kit, but nothing really concerning the quality, just the layout.

Took pictures of them both for the calendar. I figure I posted the picture enough elsewhere to not need to post it here too.

Like @Roert42 said, the Moddbox parts are quality. I would probably make a few design changes if I were building them, but there's nothing wrong with the parts themselves

Getting ready to rebuild a steering gear I had in a different truck. Hopefully it won't have alot of slop like mine.

Had the Valvoline Instant Oil Change place change out the lube in the front and rear differentials (2002 4WD XLT). Cost was $141 ($80 each but 25% discount for two). There were some metal flakes on the rear differential fill plug. Hopefully not unexpected for 141,000 miles on the truck.

Took new pictures of it, which I haven't done in years. Been working on a hood project, which is nearing completion. Had an old hood scoop which used to be on my Mustang, didn't like it holding up the wall. SO I found a way to mount it on the Rangers hood and be somewhat functional with a bunch of 1.25 holes drilled in the hood under the scoop. Then, using the ranger as a guinea pig for a later Mustang project, I cut two large slots in the hood just inside ethe style line, and mounted Mustang hood vents. It's a steel hood and was starting to rust due to it's original black color fading, so I sanded it and repainted it. Didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but it's still better than it was previously. On another calm day, I'll attempt to make it look a little better.

In the near future, maybe this weekend, will be drilling four 1.25 holes in the hood over the cai filter, then installing two small scoops over those holes. They'll be in between the style line and the fender, about four inches back from the rear of the hood bra.

Your truck wears bra.

It is lady.

It wears a bra because the front bumper is ugly and the fascia has some cracks. All will be replaced soon so the bra can go the way of the Dodo Bird. Give it time. But hey, that mesh over the radiator opening sure catches a lot of bugs and things that would otherwise be plugging the radiator.
