What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Has anyone ever posted on how much joy they have when working on drum brakes....yeah, I didn't think so.

Try working on the drum parking brake on the later Ranger models and Ford Explorers that have rear disc brakes. Comparatively speaking, rear drum brakes are a treat unless you pull the axle shafts.

That’s why the parking brakes still aren’t fixed on my Superduty.

That’s a full floater rear… pulling that apart is a walk in the park.

Meguiar's Clay bar and speed waxed.

Should be. I've just never been to that park before and it hasn't been a high priority. Plus I've got to order some parts first.

You also need a special socket.

I bragged on the 88 Lincoln too much so it started pissing antifreeze out of a hose or the heater control valve on the passenger side. Fortunately, I made it home, but I had to drive the Road Ranger for my physical therapy today.

I should’ve gotten a picture. I parked it in the handicap spot in front of the parking deck and the hospital building, both brand new. When I came out, there was a little crowd around it. I wasn’t sure if they were liking it or they were preparing to get it towed away for making the building look bad…

Oil change, 4qts of motorcraft oil N filter.

Did a 4cyl tune up with all OEM parts. Ignition coil, spark plugs, and wire ignition assembly.

Had heat this morning! Also this was the first time I've ever seen the temp gauge move within the first 5 miles of driving and it did the proper thing of spiking up a little then going down when the stat opened then back down and evening out... good sign, it was like 40F out so that's better than I've ever had, so proper working T stat and new water pump seems to have fixed things for the most part at least. The only thing I noticed on the water pump is the gap between the impeller fins and the housing was around 3/16" I think so it might not have been able to build pressure...

I had that same issue on a 4.0L. It just didn’t flow enough because of an excessive gap.
